Home to the Meigs SWCD Conservation Area, United Plant Savers, Skatopia, Wisteria farms, a water trail, and a number of mom-and-pop businesses, the 150 sq mile area is a diversely woven landscape of rolling hills and rich history.

Leading Creek Watershed Past Events
Rain Barrel Workshop
Leading Creek Watershed Group hosted a "Rain Barrel Guide To Provide" workshop on April 2, 2013 at 6pm at the Meigs SWCD Conservation Area. Attendees learned about storm water management including rain barrels, hear the benefits of owning a rain barrel, learn how to maintain and care for a rain barrel and experience firsthand how to put together a rain barrel.
Leading Creek Watershed Day Camps
Watershed Day Camps were held on June 8 and 9. Campers came out to our Conservation Area and had a blast learning about trees, recycling, wetlands, amphibians, archery, fish, and more!

Leading Volunteer Monitors Program
We are happy to introduce the Leading Volunteers Monitor Program, the first volunteer monitoring program in the Leading Creek Watershed. This page features information about the program, which we were able to start in the summer of 2010 through an Ohio Environmental Protection Agency mini-grant. (Click here to read about the grant.) Although the grant is now over, we are excited to continue this program and keep working with our volunteers! Click the links below to learn more about the program.

This document is the Leading Volunteer Monitor's resource and guide to understanding the program. We encourage volunteers to read this handbook and print it to take in the field.
Volunteer Monitoring Sites Packet
There are currently 23 monitoring sites throughout the watershed. Follow the link above to view the packet, which includes site descriptions, photos, and directions to each site.
In addition to the sites packet, visit Google interactive Google Map showing the locations of all the sites on the map. Each blue arrow marks a site. Click on sites for additional descriptions or specific instructions.
Monitoring Field Sheets
The sheets are used to record data in the field.
